Update!

A quick update after summer

Since last time:

As we might have told you, we started Hii as a part of the Build your Startup Course at the Design Faculty at TU Delft. We started combining methods from creative facilitation with positive psychology to see if it could help facilitate conversations between students about their mental well-being.

We got very wholesome feedback from students after testing this a few times. Last semester we marketed, planned, and facilitated seven workshops about “dealing with stress” and “my strengths”.

A lot has happened since then! Here are the highlights:

1. We are providing value for students! 22 students joined our workshops last semester with very promising feedback.

2. We finished the Build your Startup course and are now working on hii one day a week next to our graduation projects.

3. We were featured in an article by Delta

4. Melissa and Neva met the dutch queen and other students working with student mental health at TU Delft. Thank you to Michelle and Jan from the TU Delft psychologists, and MIND Us for inviting us!

5. We have four lovely facilitators joining us at the end of September

6. Last but not least: we are now a part of the Study Climate Program at TU Delft! This means we can make the workshops accessible and available for students across campus. In October/November, our workshops will be available through X and Career and Counselling Services.

Fun fact: why are we called "hii"?

At the beginning of the Build your Startup course, we considered doing something involving well-being and communication in hybrid work culture, so our first name was “hiibrid.” After a few weeks of looking into that area, we switched focus to student well-being. We just removed the “brid” from “hiibrid” and liked the ring of it. Now the name has stuck, and we think "hii" suits us perfectly.

After all, every conversation starts with a Hi! :)

What's next:

The long-term plan is to figure out how to best make hii available and a sustainable service for students at TU Delft in the future. We are testing this now by offering workshops through different channels and platforms: X, Career and Counselling Services, and cooperating with student/study organisations.

We are excited to see how this continues to develop!

Want to collaborate?

Do you have feedback, ideas or suggestions for hii? We're still developing and are eager to hear your thoughts!
